Will Eyelash Extensions pull my own eyelashes out?

Posted on 12 October, 2016 at 19:25 Comments comments (13657)

You must be gentle with your eyelashes whether you have eyelash extensions or not. Excessive pulling, tugging or rubbing is not only hard on the delicate skin around your eyes, but can cause some natural lashes to come out prematurely, and your eyelash extension with them.

If good adhesive is used and proper technique is applied, eyelash extensions are made to stay safely adhered to your natural lashes until they shed.

What are refills and how often will I need them?

Even though some clients get eyelash extensions for a special occasion or event, most love them and want to keep the look. Since you naturally shed your own lashes, you will also shed the lash extension with it. To maintain your lash extensions, it will require touch-ups, or refills, to replace them. This is a process of adding lash extensions to those new lashes that have reached the 5 to 6 week maturity level.

Do lash extensions fall out over a certain period of time?

Posted on 12 October, 2016 at 19:15 Comments comments (866)

Since each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally along with the natural growth cycle of each lash. We recommend a touch-up every two to four weeks.

When an inexperienced professional applies lashes, he or she often applies one synthetic lash to three to four natural lashes, causing clumps or the lash to break and fall out. In addition, your lashes might fall out if you pick at them or try to pull them out yourself, which is a big no-no. But if you ...

How long does it take to apply lash extensions?

Posted on 12 October, 2016 at 19:10 Comments comments (1800)

Applying a full set of lashes takes anywhere from 1-2 hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups recommended every two to four weeks.

Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. (This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy.) For example, if your natural lashes are on the shorter, thinner side, you won't be able to get a crazy, dramatic Kim Kardashian loo...

What else to look for

BEFORE:Look for a practitioner or salon that is well established and is dedicated solely to providing lash extensions as their primary business.Ask to see the products being used. Read the label of the product to check for any chemicals being used that you may be allergic to. The adhesive used should be 'pharmaceutical grade' and be safe for use on the eye area. The lashes themselves are usually advertised as synthetic, silk or mink. A softer, lighter lash such as mink will put less tensi...
